What is a Green Badge Guide?

  • Green Badge Guides have all passed a rigorous training course run by the Institute of Tourist Guides (https://www.itg.org.uk/about/about-the-institute) based in the area they guide in and culminating written exam and two practical assessments. Green badge qualified guides are the only guides in Cambridge allowed to guide inside King’s and many of the other collages.

Where do they start?

  • All the tours, with the exception of Town with a bit of Gown, start and finish outside the tourist office near the market on Peas Hill - see map. If you use What3Words, this is the exact location: ///turns.nearly.earth

  • Town with a bit of Gown starts in the carpark at Castle Hill ( See map) and ends outside Great St Mary’s Church in the centre of town. Again, for What3Word users, the exact location is: ///goes.zebra.rising

  • I guide between 9 an 7 - you can choose an available slot from the booking form. I will aim to be at the start point at least 10 minutes before.
